The Board met on June 13, 2024, at 12:00 noon, at the home of member Judy Fouts. After discussing business matters, they set up for the annual garage sale held in Judy’s garage from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

- Proceeds from the sale fund two scholarships at Bay College for non-traditional female students returning to college after an interruption in their education.

The Board welcomed newly elected officers:
- President-Elect: Sandra Walker
- VP of Membership: Vicki Veasey
- Co-VP of Programs: Susan Kay Harris
Co-VPs of Programs Susan Harris and Ann Wood listed three future program ideas aligning with AAUW’s public policies:
- Increasing interest and access to STEM programming for girls and women
- The Escanaba High School Robotics Team will present on their activities and impact on future educational plans.
- Increasing financial education and economic security for women
- A program on recognizing and preventing various fraud scams.
- Increasing equal access and funding for quality public education free of harassment, bullying, and sexual assault for all students, and vigorous enforcement of Title IX and other civil rights laws pertaining to education.
- Dr. Nerita Hughes, President of Bay College, will review her first year, discuss goals, updates, new and continued educational curricula, and school-sponsored sports programs impacting women.
Finance Officer Laura LaPine reported:
- Savings: $5610.69
- Checking: $2636.20
- Bills paid: $1400 for 2 Bay Scholarships for women (AAUW; M. Jean Jokipii)
- Depending on investment returns, the supplemental scholarship amount fluctuates annually between $400 and $1,000.
- The Board donated $100 to the AAUW Bay Scholarship in memory of Butch LaBay.
